A. The application for a driveway permit shall submit four copies of the application form and driveway plan, if required, along with the appropriate fees to the Pohatcong Township Planning Board Engineer. [Amended 4-11-2000)

B. The Planning Board Engineer shall be the issuing authority for permits for all classes of driveways. Upon receipt of an application for a driveway permit, the Planning Board Engineer shall as part of the technical review, submit one copy of the application to the Chief of the Pohatcong Township Fire Department and one copy to the Township Road Supervisor for comment. C. At no fee, the Chief of the Pohatcong Township Fire Department and the Road Supervisor shall review the driveway plan and provide comments to the Township Engineer as to whether or not the proposed driveway will provide adequate access for firefighting equipment, ambulances and other emergency vehicles necessary for the protection of the public health and safety in all weather conditions and whether there are any other particular concerns related to the construction of the driveway.

D. Upon completion of his technical review, the Township Engineer shall notify the Construction Code Official either that the application should be approved or denied along with the reasons for the denial. If, however, additional information is deemed necessary to complete his review, the Township Engineer shall notify the applicant of the additional information which is required to be submitted. The additional information may be submitted directly to the Township Engineer to facilitate review of the application.
