20-3.1 Establishment of Districts.

The town shall be divided into thirteen types of districts, which shall be shall be differentiated according to use and shall be known and designated as:

R-1 Low Density Residential-

R-2 Low-medium Density Residential.

R-3 Medium Density Residential.

R-TH Medium-High Density Residential.

R-4 High Density Residential.

PRD-A Planned Residential Development - A District.

C-1 Professional office.

C-2 Retail Service.

C-3 Highway Commercial.

C-4 General commercial.

M-1 Limited Industrial.

H-S Hospital Service.

MXD Mixed use District.

20-3.2 Zoning Map.

The boundaries of the said zoning districts are hereby established as shown on the "Zoning Map, Town of Newton" as revised June, 1996 which accompanies and is made a part of this chapter. The map is on file in the office of the clerk of the town and is available for inspection, and copies thereof are available to interested members of the public.

20-3.3 Boundaries.

District boundary lines are intended to follow street centerlines and lot or property lines.

The exact location of any disputed district boundary line shall be determined by the zoning board of adjustment in accordance with rules and regulations which may be adopted by it as hereinafter provided.

20-3.4 Summary Table of Regulations.

The schedule of regulations shows in summary tabular form on Table I, the applicable bulk and area regulations in each zoning district as permitted by this chapter. For detailed requirements or special conditions, the applicable zoning district should be examined.
